How can I listen to me TV through me Home Theatre?

Hollis Demasters: Every home theater system and tv are different, so to get a complete answer, I would go to the place you purchased either the tv, or the home theater system from and ask them. In my home I had to hook an HDMI cable from my cable box, to my tv. Then more wires from my tv to my home theater system.

Adam Momaya: Most new TVs have RCA Audio Outputs. This is only Stereo. You can connect those to your Home Theater. Yo will get stereo sound. The TV speakers will still output sound. If you want 5.1 sound, for instance from your DVD Player, you have to connect the Optical (or Coaxial) DVD out to your HT. If you have a Satellite receiver, you'll do the same.ADDED:It's very strange, are you sure it doesn't have two RCA Red and White labeled "Audio out" or something similar to that? How do you receive TV channels? Do you have Cable, Satellite or just an Antenna? If you have either cable or Satellite, use their audio output....Show more

Ileen Oshell: The! HDMI port on your TV is most likely an input. You want to look for red and white RCA jacks labeled as audio outputs. Then plug the other end of the cables into RCA audio inputs on your audio system.

Lahoma Beadell: You need to connect an optical cable from the tv to the home theater. Keep in mind that not all tv programs are in surround sound. Only those programs that have a Dolby Digital logo will have the surround sound, Some home theater in the box, you need to select the source input when you connect an optical cable to it. Hope this will help you out.

Raymundo Kyser: My TV doesn't seem to have an 'Audio Out' port, what should I do at this point?
