Does Japanese Hair Straightening damage the hair?

Ariel Arons: All hair straightening damages hair. That's how it works. It weakens curly hair so that it hangs down instead of curling up.

Marcellus Yoshimori: When I had my hair japanese straightened, it made it feel so much smoother and softer than before. It all depends on the person, if you have a sensitive scalp, and lose hair easily, it MAY happen. Although, it did not happen with me. Once the straightening wears off (which takes a while) your hair may lose it's smoothness and get frizzy, but you just have to get it straightened again.

Marvel Mcaulay: Japenese Hair Straightening is super damaging to the hair. And very, very expensive. Not worth it.
