Blaine Connett: Yes you should. Because if you fail classes in freshman year, you'll have to retake them the next year which means you don't go up a grade. Although your grades are only kept in your "dogwood" when you are in grade 10 and up. It's a good thing to get a good start now.

Colleges start to look at your grades and your cumulative GPA is reflected on your Freshman - Senior years in high school. Plus the classes you take and how well you do in them determine the classes you take in your following years. If college is an important future for you, this is critical.If all you care about is your High School Diploma this is also important because jobs are curious on how well their applicants did in school.
